Mental Health Practitioner II ON-CALL 260003

Maghakian Place, an Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) center in St. Paul is searching for a part-time, ON-CALL Mental Health Practitioner II (260003). Maghakian Place provides intensive mental health and dual diagnosis treatment for an adult co-ed population of up to sixteen residents for a maximum of 90 days.

The typical hours for this position might be Saturday and/or Sunday for one of the following shifts:

  • 8:00am Ė 4:30pm
  • 4:00pm - 12:30am
  • 12:00am - 8:30am


The Mental Health Practitioner II will provide:

  • Psychoeducation about mental illness diagnoses and symptoms
  • Group facilitation of Illness Management and Recovery topics
  • Individual sessions focused on brief therapeutic modalities and skill building for coping with mental health symptoms
  • Crisis stabilization and prevention planning
  • Information and/or referrals to resources in the community for increased support and stabilization
  • Skill-development training for independent living skills, daily living skills & social skills
  • Admission, treatment & discharge coordination with community providers
  • Illness management & recovery treatment for acute mental/chemical health needs
  • Medication administration & psychoeducation about diagnoses
  • Solution-building around events directly related to initial crisis
  • Relapse-prevention & safety planning

All staff members attend monthly supervision meetings, weekly clinical review meetings, and monthly staff meetings


Required qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a behavioral science field
  • Bachelorís Degree in a behavioral science field
  • 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with serious and persistent mental illness

Preferred qualifications:

  • Masterís degree in a behavioral science field
  • 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with serious and persistent mental illness
