Mental Health Therapist 643MHT

The Early Childhood Mental Health Program is searching for a Mental Health Therapist 643MHT to join our Day Treatment team. Our program provides skills services to children ages 3-7 who have a diagnosed mental illness. All early childhood services are provided in a childcare center setting designed to provide safe and nurturing opportunities for growth and development in all areas, including motor skills, language, and social/emotional development.

Typical hours for the role will be Monday - Friday, 8:00-4:30pm.


The Mental Health Therapist is responsible to:

  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients, parents and other family members
  • Assess needs of clients; develop and implement treatment plans and regularly evaluate effectiveness of these plans
  • Conduct group therapy with children ages 3-7
  • Perform diagnostic assessments/evaluations on children in the programs
  • Develop CTSS plans and obtain authorizations for service
  • Provide supervision to staff providing CTSS services
  • Develop and maintain all required charting, for clients, including intakes and discharge summaries, and treatment plans


Required Qualifications:

  • One of the following licenses: LICSW, LP, LMFT or LPCC
  • Diagnostic assessment experience and therapy skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills and practices
  • Experience leading groups with children with mental health concerns
  • Experience working with young children ages 3-7
  • Valid driverís licence
  • Adequate auto insurance
  • Excellent driving record
  • Reliable vehicle
